Job summary

This full-time position offers 37.5 hours per week with opportunities to support the development of the Urodynamic/Urology unit, collaborate with consultants, and provide patient guidance and information as part of standard care pathways.

Qualifications

• Be listed by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a General Nurse.
• Maintain clinical and administrative competence for professional practice.
• Demonstrate knowledge in urology or urodynamics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practice nursing in line with NMBI guidelines and Code of Professional Conduct.
• Work within area of expertise and keep up-to-date clinical skills.
• Assist CNS in creating the Urodynamic/Urology unit.
• Provide urology patients and families with guidance and support.
• Give verbal and written information to patients about what to expect.
• Collaborate with consultants to implement care pathways and standards.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Full-Time)

Key Responsibilities

• Practice nursing in accordance with the Professional Clinical Guidelines and the Code of Professional Conduct established by the Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland).
• Work within their area of expertise and take steps to keep up the skills required for professional practice.
• Assist the CNS in creating the Urodynamic/Urology unit.
• Provide urology patients and their families with guidance and assistance.
• Provide verbal and written information to patients and make sure they understand what to expect from the Urodynamic/Urology unit.
• Together with the consultants, create care pathways and put standards of care and best practice guidelines into action.

Requirements

• Be listed in the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland's [NMBI] General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses.
• Have the skills and information necessary to carry out office responsibilities effectively, including a high level of clinical and administrative aptitude.
• Exhibit expertise and professional understanding in all areas of the Staff Nurse General's nursing practice.
• Experience in urology or urodynamics is preferred.
