We are currently recruiting a Staff Nurse – Oncology Day Unit for a hospital in Galway, Ireland .
Staff Nurse – Oncology Day Unit Location: Galway, IrelandHours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate and patient-centred nursing care to patients undergoing oncology treatments
- Assess patients’ clinical needs and develop, implement and evaluate individualised care plans
- Safely administer and monitor oncology treatments in accordance with clinical protocols and established guidelines
- Monitor patients throughout treatment and recognise, manage and escalation any adverse reactions or changes in clinical condition
- Provide education, information and emotional support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective coordination and continuity of patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, care records and treatment-related information
- Promote infection prevention and control, medication safety and compliance with relevant clinical policies and procedures
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of clinical practice, patient safety and quality improvement within the Oncology Day Ward
- Support a welcoming and respectful environment that promotes patient dignity, comfort and overall wellbeing
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Previous experience in oncology nursing is highly desirable
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate and patient-centred care
- Genuine interest in developing and advancing clinical skills and knowledge in oncology nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to teamwork, continuous learning and professional development
