Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking a Staff Firmware Engineer in Ireland to join our Consumer system software team.

You will work on system-level architectures, integrating hardware and software to deliver advanced DSP/ML-enabled solutions for true wireless and multimedia applications. The role requires 8+ years in firmware, strong C/C++, Python, and DSP expertise, plus experience with ML frameworks and Bluetooth audio platforms.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of industrial firmware experience.
  • Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills.
  • Strong knowledge of DSP and algorithm development.
  • Experience with ML/DL platforms (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience with Tensilica HiFi, Kalimba DSP cores and Bluetooth Audio Frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience building, debugging multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience with embedded RTOS and SCM tools.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain system-level firmware architectures combining hardware and software components.
  • Specify, integrate and optimize audio/video DSP algorithms for consumer products.
  • Understand complex customer ecosystems and integrate Analog Devices offerings.
  • Develop and debug all aspects of system software with attention to performance.

Staff Firmware Engineer

Complexity in consumer systems is growing exponentially. ADI is well positioned to leverage its core sensor and signal processing technology to solve these complex problems. We are looking for an energetic Senior Firmware Engineer who can couple the advanced technologies being developed at ADI with novel software solutions, algorithms, and machine learning primitives.

The candidate:

  • Should be able to work on system level architectures; should be able to create and maintain system level solutions comprised of state-of-the-art hardware and software components and provide documentation for our products.
  • Should be able to specify, integrate and/or design and enhance audio and video DSP algorithms and other signal processing methods targeting consumer product domains such as true wireless systems.
  • Should be able to understand complex customer application ecosystems and integrate our product offerings.
  • Must have prior experience in developing and debugging all aspects of system software. This includes understanding overall system performance from both a hardware and software perspective.

Primary Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of Industrial experience in the firmware development
  • Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills
  • Strong knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and algorithm development experience
  • Experience with machine learning, deep neural network technologies, PyTorch, TensorFlow platforms
  • Strong knowledge of Tensilica HiFi, Kalimba DSP cores and Bluetooth Audio Frameworks
  • Hands on experience with integrating, building, and testing of multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience with embedded real-time operating systems
  • Experience with SCM tools (GIT, SVN, Clearcase, Perforce, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with defect tracking tools (Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)

Secondary Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of a software development process (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Application of Object-Oriented concepts and methodologies
  • Strong system level knowledge in audio, video and TWS domains
