Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Staff Engineer to design, build, and operate the internal and external Observability stack for the MongoDB platform. You will lead architecture and implementation for scalable monitoring, alerts, and telemetry across data and control planes.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and SRE teams, and own critical components ensuring security, durability, and performance in a high-growth environment in Dublin.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience with observability tooling and telemetry.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement components for a scalable observability platform.
• Improve diagnostics to quickly identify production issues.
• Lead production escalations and mentor teammates.
• Write production-grade database code and improve existing modules.
• Own critical observability code with emphasis on security and performance.
