Job summary

Rain is the world’s first AI Financial Health Platform. We are hiring a Staff Backend Engineer in the EMEA region for a remote role, helping set the technical direction of our backend platform and APIs that span banking, payroll, and timekeeping integrations.

You will design scalable distributed services, mentor engineers, and work with international product teams to deliver reliable RESTful APIs and robust, observable systems.

Qualifications

• Senior staff-level engineer with fintech product experience.
• Strong system design and ownership of large initiatives.
• Proven ability to ship reliable RESTful APIs and scalable services.
• Experience with distributed microservices architectures.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architecture for major backend areas.
• Design and implement distributed microservices and reliable systems.
• Build and maintain 3rd-party integrations and APIs.
• Ensure observability and zero-downtime releases.
