Job summary

Activ8 Solar Energies is seeking a safety‑conscious Solar O&M Service Engineer to join our Commercial Operations & Maintenance team. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary, company vehicle, pension, private healthcare, and a comprehensive benefits package.

You’ll work across Ireland in a hybrid arrangement from Carrickmacross and Dublin, with remote home working and site attendance as required. You’ll develop and maintain monitoring platforms, perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot

Qualifications

Electrical and Solar PV O&M experience is preferable.
Full Clean Driver’s Licence.
Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical installation, maintenance or renewable energy.
Experience on commercial/industrial electrical systems.
IPAF / Harness training essential or willing to complete.
Strong understanding of HV, LV and SCADA systems.
Knowledge of Huawei, Sungrow or SMA inverter systems desirable.
Experience with CDM regulations and RAMS updates preferred.
Drone Licence or willingness to obtain.
Experience with utility-scale solar assets, BESS or EV charging desirable.
High level of accuracy in reporting, organisation, and time management.
Ability to work in fast-paced environments and communicate with managers & service helplines.
Excellent written, IT, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain solar Monitoring platforms/SCADA and reporting.
Carry out planned maintenance per O&M schedules and OEM requirements.
Manage site work including panels, inverters, switchgear and related components.
Troubleshoot electrical & monitoring faults to minimise downtime.
Respond to reactive callouts and fault alarms.
Conduct electrical testing (IV curve tracing, insulation resistance, thermal imaging).
Manage warranty claims and RAMS updates.
Maintain QHSE standards and regulatory compliance.
Travel regularly and work away from home as needed.
Coordinate sub‑contractors/Activ8 employees as required.
