Dell Technologies is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the UnstructuredData Storage group in Cork. You will design and implement capabilities for enterprise-grade storage platforms, including a multi-petabyte S3 object store and scale-out NAS, while driving quality and security across the stack.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience in software engineering.
• Strong skills in C and/or Python; willingness to learn across the stack.
• Excellent understanding of modern Linux, including the kernel, drivers, containers, early boot, and other low-level technologies.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Self driven, detail oriented, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks from design to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and architecture of industry-leading storage platforms across the full software development life cycle.
• Create detailed technical designs for new features and improvements; maintain documentation.
• Engage in discovery tasks and proofs of concept around modern networking solutions.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will work on innovative solutions using new and current technologies. You will design and implement capabilities, often spanning multiple components.

• Create detailed technical designs for new features and improvements. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all areas.

Essential Requirements

• Exceptional programming skills with 8+ years of related experience
