Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager for AWS Database Migration Service to architect and deliver a next-generation migration engine. You will guide a distributed team across design to production, focusing on automation, reliability, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

Knowledge of full software lifecycle practices: coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, certification, and live-site operations.
Experience in engineering team management.
Experience in software engineering.
Experience leading multi-tier web services design and development.
Experience partnering with product and program management.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 6-10 SDEs from architecture to production for a distributed migration engine.
Own end-to-end feature delivery: capture, replication, validation, and automated cutover.
Drive architecture decisions for horizontal scaling, fault isolation, and data consistency.
Collaborate with principal engineers and leadership on platform evolution and strategy.
Ensure release quality and cadence for a production service operating at scale.
Mentor engineers and foster ownership and operational excellence.
Promote AI-powered engineering practices to boost team effectiveness.
