Staff Grade and Senior Social Workers – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

We are currently recruiting Staff Grade and Senior Social Workers to join a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team based in Ballymun. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist multidisciplinary team supporting children, adolescents, and their families experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker
  • Carry out comprehensive psychosocial assessments with children, adolescents, and families
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and support tailored to individual needs
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, nursing, and allied health professionals
  • Develop and implement care plans in line with a recovery‑oriented and family‑centred approach
  • Engage with external agencies including Tusla, schools, and community services
  • Participate in safeguarding and child protection processes
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical records
Senior Role Responsibilities (in addition to above)
  • Manage a complex caseload and provide clinical leadership within the team
  • Support and supervise junior staff and students
  • Contribute to service development, audit, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide specialist input into complex cases and multidisciplinary decision‑making
Requirements for the Social Worker
  • Degree in Social Work
  • CORU registration (or eligibility)
  • For Staff Grade: relevant experience working with children, adolescents, or mental health services
  • For Senior Grade: minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience
  • Experience in CAMHS or child and adolescent services desirable
  • Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Desirable
  • Experience in child protection and safeguarding
  • Knowledge of relevant mental health and social care legislation
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
