Job summary

Elk Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Social Care Worker for a permanent full-time position based in Carlow. You will implement care plans and work to empower Service Users within a supported environment.

The role requires CORU registration or a CORU-approved qualification with evidence of registration application, along with a QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care. Experience with HIQA and HSE policies is valued.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 7/8 Degree in Social Care/Social Care Studies is required.
• Must be registered in the CORU social care workers register.
• Alternative CORU-approved qualification with CORU registration application evidence or a BA in social care accepted.
• TUSLA compliance is highly beneficial for the role.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement Care Plans and Person-Centered Plans for each Service User.
• Regularly review all care protocols for each Service User.
• Facilitate Service Users' needs through appropriate communication systems.
• Assist individuals to maximize independence, communication, and personal development.
• Adhere to national policies, HIQA Standards, and HSE safeguarding policies.
• Promote independence and respect for each Service User's age and status.

Your new role includes:

• Reviewing and putting into practice the details of Care Plans and Person-Centered Plans for each Service User.
• Reviewing, regularly, all protocols of care for each Service User in your care.
• Understanding and facilitating Service Users needs through the use of appropriate communication systems.
• Assisting each individual in reaching the maximum potential in independence, communication, and personal development.
• Adhering to all national policies, including (but not limited to) HIQA Standards, HSE policies including any safeguarding policies.
• Fostering and encouraging independence and initiative and respect the age and status of each Service User.

Experience you need:

• QQI Level 7/8 Degree in Social Care/Social Care Studies or equivalent is required
• Be registered in the social care workers register maintained by the social care workers registration board maintained by CORU
• Alternatively, Hold a CORU approved social care worker qualification and have applied for CORU registration (evidence of application will be necessary) Hold a BA in social care.
• Tusla compliance is extremely beneficial
