Job summary

Health Service Executive invites applications for a Social Care Worker position (Specifed Purpose Wholetime) based in Stillorgan, Dublin. The role requires a QQI level 7 award or equivalent, CORU registration (or in progress) and at least 6 months’ experience with complex needs. A full, clean driving licence is essential.

• Qualification required: QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, or CORU schedule 3 qualification, with at least 6 months experience as a Social Care Worker.
• Knowledge of current social care regulations and legislation.
• Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism.
• Ability to work on own initiative and develop care plans/ PCPs.
• Fluent English with excellent communication skills and a full clean driving licence.

Qualification required: A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs. Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker OR proof of application in progress with CORU. Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker: Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector. Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism. Proven ability to work on own initiative. Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP's. Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities. Delivers support according to the person's PCP and care plan. Fluent English and excellent communication skills. Full, clean drivers licence (manual) essential with requirement to drive service vehicles.
