Job summary

A healthcare recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist in Tralee to provide assessment and therapeutic support for children in care. The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with social workers, and helping to set up a therapeutic service. Ideal candidates will have a qualification in Occupational Therapy, CORU registration, and at least three years of clinical experience with children.

Senior Occupational Therapist - Children in Care

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client, the Child and Family Agency are recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist to provide a range of assessment and therapeutic skills to help support children and young people in Residential and Foster Care as well as children living in the community in Co. Kerry.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide both direct and indirect input and support for children or young people as well as work closely with the child/young person social worker and will be involved in the statutory care planning for the child where appropriate.

This is a unique opportunity, to be instrumental in setting up a Therapeutic team to develop and deliver a much-needed therapeutic service.

The overall goal is to facilitate better engagement in the activities that are important or meaningful to a child or young person. This may include participation in family life, play, self-care and learning activities.

Interested candidates should have:

  • A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist with CORU registration
  • Have three years full time post qualification clinical experience with a minimum of one year working with children and young people
