National Vehicle Distribution is seeking a skilled HGV General Operative to join its operations in Leinster. You will engage in general mechanical work on trucks and trailers, perform checks, and support refurbishment projects while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes hands-on tool use, teamwork, and reliable, punctual performance in a fast-paced environment. Possess a full HGV license and practical workshop experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be competent to use hand tools and basic workshop equipment.
• Basic mechanical skills required.
• Organized and self-motivated with a good work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general mechanical, hydraulic and fabrication repairs to a fleet of trucks & trailers.
• Assist as needed in transporter refurb/re-life.
• Complete housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Assist mechanics and fabricators as needed.

Role Summary

Dynamic and dependable Skilled HGV General Operative with a full HGV license and hands-on mechanical expertise. Proficient in using hand tools and workshop equipment to handle routine maintenance, vehicle checks, and general operational support. Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced, high-pressure environments—balancing independent initiative with strong team collaboration. Highly organized, safety-focused, and adaptable, bringing a proactive work ethic, excellent punctuality, and a continuous eagerness to share technical knowledge and support team success.
