Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine facility audits and inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance issues.
  • Assist with space planning, equipment upgrades, and vendor management on projects.
  • Ensure GMP, environmental, and safety standards are followed in all facility operations.
  • Prepare and update facility metrics, KPI dashboards, and documentation using CMMS.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance building efficiency and reduce downtime.

Job Description

This Site Facilities Intern role in Cork, Ireland, supports a multinational pharmaceutical site's daily operations. You will help manage and gain hands-on experience in IFM (Integrated Facilities Management) and continuous improvement projects in a regulated manufacturing environment.


Role Overview


  • Location: Cork, Ireland

  • Duration: 6 - 9 Months (Full-Time)

  • Department: Facilities & Site Services / Engineering

  • Reporting to: Site Facilities Manager


Key Responsibilities


  • Facility Audits & Inspections: Conduct routine site walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and compliance issues across laboratories and manufacturing suites.

  • Project Support: Assist the facilities and engineering teams with space planning, equipment upgrades, and vendor management.

  • EHS & Compliance: Ensure all facility operations adhere strictly to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, environmental sustainability goals, and safety protocols.

  • Data Management: Prepare and update facility metrics, KPI dashboards, and technical documentation using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate projects to improve building efficiency and reduce operational downtime.


Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in Facilities Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical), Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, EHS, Manufacturing).

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen interest in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
