Job summary

Merit Medical Galway is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance and facility teams, ensuring reliable operation of production equipment and site utilities such as HVAC, BMS, and RO water systems.

You will schedule repairs, train technicians, monitor KPIs, coordinate contractors, and drive sustainability initiatives while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of maintenance experience within manufacturing, production, facilities or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Predictive and Preventive Maintenance, TPM and Lean initiatives.
  • Knowledge of supervision principles and ability to apply them effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises maintenance and facility team members and sets clear goals.
  • Schedules and supervises repair and maintenance of production equipment and facility utilities.
  • Trains technicians on up-to-date techniques and problem-solving for equipment breakdowns.
  • Develops and maintains KPI's and metrics for the department.
  • Coordinates contractors and service providers to ensure safe, compliant maintenance work.
  • Supports sustainability initiatives aligned with Merit’s strategy.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of patients around the world.SUMMARY OF DUTIESThe successful candidate will have responsibility for the supervision and training of maintenance and facility team members and will ensure the effective maintenance, operation and reliability of both production and facility-related equipment and systems.Main Duties/Responsibilities:Supervises team and sets clear goals for each team member.Interviews, hires, trains team members as needed.Evaluates job performance, schedules work and other work-related responsibilities.Responsible for the scheduling and supervision of the repair and maintenance of production equipment and facility-related plant and utilities.Trains technicians on using up-to-date techniques to problem solve repeat equipment and facilities breakdown issues and implement solutions to prevent further issues.Develops and maintains KPI's and metrics for the department.Ensures adequate inventory of critical spare parts for all production and facilities equipment.Responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance and compliance of site facilities systems, including HVAC, chillers, compressors, RO water systems, fire alarm systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated utilities.Coordinates contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.Coordinate facility-based sustainability projects in support of Merit’s Sustainability Strategy, ensuring initiatives are delivered in line with established goals, targets and timelines.Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, implement and monitor sustainability and energy reduction initiatives that improve facility performance and support corporate environmental objectivesWrites reports, extracts engineering or other data from various reports and processes and presents the data.Solicits and receives technical advice from engineers and external contractors for assistance in solving complex problems.Support and coach team members and share constructive feedback as needed.
