Job summary

EPS Group is seeking a Site Based Civil Works Project Engineer to lead on-site civil activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dundalk. You will report to the Project Manager and coordinate with ER, RE, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure safety, programme, and budget compliance.

The role requires a degree in civil engineering, strong coordination skills, and a full driving licence with willingness to travel to site locations.

Qualifications

• 3rd Level qualification in Engineering / Safety management.
• Experience delivering civil construction projects, ideally water/wastewater/utilities.
• Strong health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Excellent project coordination, planning, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams effectively.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive problem-solver with a strong attention to detail.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel to site locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee all site-based civil construction activities, including M&E interfaces and project handovers.
• Support the delivery of projects in line with safety, quality, programme, budget, and compliance objectives.
• Assist with PSDP and PSCS duties and ensure implementation of site safety procedures.
• Manage day-to-day communication and coordination with the ER, RE, project stakeholders, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate design requirements between engineering teams and civil subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements on site.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, workforce activities, site instructions, delays, and variations.
• Monitor and update the civil works programme and track project progress.
• Prepare weekly 4-week look-ahead schedules and monthly 4-month look-ahead programmes.
• Produce monthly civil progress reports and project documentation.
• Foster a collaborative and positive team environment across all project stakeholders.
