Job summary
Speechify seeks a seasoned Windows desktop engineer to shape the future of its native Windows product. You will own architecture, lead design, and deliver reliable, accessible applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, and C++ when needed.
You'll collaborate with product designers, QA, and cross-functional teams to drive feature roadmaps, mentor engineers, and ensure performance and cross-version compatibility across Windows 10/11+.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in Windows desktop app development with Windows App SDK and WinUI.
- Deep understanding of interop between .NET and native code.
- Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with reliability and performance.
- Experience with accessibility APIs and inclusive software.
- Strong fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, concurrency.
- Experience leading design, mentoring engineers, and code reviews.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- User-centric mindset for polished, accessible experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK and C#.
- Define best practices for performance, memory usage, and cross-version compatibility.
- Drive accessibility efforts with UI Automation and related APIs.
- Collaborate with product designers, QA, and stakeholders on feature planning and roadmap.
- Own full lifecycle of features from conception to maintenance.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and rendering issues.
