Dell Technologies in Cork, Ireland, seeks an experienced Technical Staff, AI Architect to lead design and deployment of enterprise AI systems, with hands-on engineering and architectural leadership across teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in agentic AI, multi-agent systems, and LLM-based application development.
  • Software engineering background with spec-driven development, TDD, Domain-Driven Design, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with context engineering, memory architecture, RAG, and retrieval systems.
  • Experience with graph technologies such as LPG, RDF, Knowledge Graphs, and GraphRAG.
  • Experience with AI evaluation, harness engineering, testing, and observability.
  • Experience with AI tools and interoperability including Skills, plugins, MCP, A2A, and tool calling.
  • Understanding of token economics, inference efficiency, model routing, latency, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with LLMOps / AgentOps and production AI systems.
  • Experience with AI-assisted coding and agentic SDLC approaches.
  • Understanding of AI UX patterns including AG-UI and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Experience with multimodal AI including voice, image, and text.
  • Strong independent technical leadership, collaboration, and ability to influence across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design production-grade agentic AI and multi-agent architectures.
  • Define agent orchestration, tool execution, state management, workflow, retry, fallback, and recovery patterns.
  • Engineer reliable agent loops covering reasoning, action, observation, validation, and termination.
  • Design deterministic and non-deterministic workflows appropriate to the use case.
  • Define scalable context, memory, retrieval, and knowledge architectures for AI systems.
  • Design reusable AI capabilities, skills, plugins, and integration patterns using MCP and A2A.
  • Establish engineering approaches for AI evaluation, harnesses, testing, observability, LLMOps, and production debugging.
  • Provide independent technical leadership and establish reusable engineering standards across teams.
  • Drive strategic technology initiatives in collaboration with Product Managers, Architects, Engineers, and SMEs.
  • Evaluate and contribute to technology roadmaps with a focus on platform reliability, serviceability, AI readiness, and engineering standards.

We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across the design, engineering, and delivery of enterprise AI systems.

The role requires strong hands-on engineering capability combined with architectural thinking, technical leadership, and the ability to establish reusable engineering patterns and standards across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in several areas of modern AI engineering, including agentic AI, context and memory engineering, evaluation frameworks, AI platform engineering, multimodal systems, LLMOps, and distributed production systems.

What you'll achieve

In the role as an AI Architect, you will lead our AI/GEN AI initiatives. You will be responsible for architecting AI/GEN AI solutions, executing our GEN AI/AI strategy, and driving measurable business impact. The AI Architect will transform our Customer Support business towards a fully autonomous agentic AI system. This role requires an individual capable of translating strategic goals into tangible, high-impact AI solutions, fostering a culture of connection, innovation, and excellence within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

You will
