Job summary

Ethos Engineering seeks a Senior Sustainability Consultant to lead environmental certifications, focusing on LEED and related schemes. You will shape sustainability strategies across commercial, residential, and data centre projects, collaborating with clients and design teams to meet legislative requirements.

You will guide pre-assessments, document controls, and LCA studies, with a view to growing our sustainability service offerings and QA/QC processes while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a sustainability consultant or in a related role.
• A degree in sustainability, construction, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• LEED AP (with Speciality) qualification.
• Proven experience delivering third-party certification schemes (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, HPI).
• Professional qualifications in: BREEAM Assessor / AP, HPI Assessor.
• Experience supporting the implementation of sustainability strategies across large-scale or complex projects.
• Previous experience mentoring or line-managing junior sustainability professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage sustainability certification processes (LEED, HPI, EU Taxonomy).
• Deliver HPI services and provide strategic input to support its successful implementation.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, and other stakeholders to establish sustainability criteria and project goals.
• Conduct pre-assessments, credit reviews, and gap analyses for LEED, HPI, and other rating systems.
• Coordinate and compile documentation for environmental credits and certification evidence.
• Undertake Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to inform design and material decisions.
• Support the Sustainability Directors in evolving the company’s sustainability service offering and QA/QC processes.
• Produce clear, high-quality reports and sustainability guidance for clients and internal teams.
• Attend site visits and project meetings to monitor progress and maintain alignment with project sustainability targets.
• Mentor junior team members and oversee their contributions to project deliverables.

About the Job
