Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer in Ireland to lead early-stage research and system-level design for next-generation medical devices. You will work cross-functionally with R&D, clinical, marketing, manufacturing, and other teams, turning complex user needs into robust engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical with 6+ years of experience
• Masters qualification preferred
• Experience developing and optimizing designs for mechanical/electro-mechanical assemblies using DFM
• Experience creating drawings, models and applying GD&T and CAE tools
• Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing and processing methods
• Ability to communicate complex plans to team members

Responsibilities

• Lead research, design, development and evaluation of modules or subsystems
• Mentor others on engineering theories, principles and concepts
• Translate user needs into design inputs and system-level designs
• Conduct prototyping and testing of advanced concepts
• Lead resolution of complex product design issues
• Collaborate across R&D, clinical, marketing, manufacturing and other functions
• Contribute to compliance thinking and documentation in early design
