Job summary

Telnyx is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Enablement team in Ireland to design, build and operate production services that allow AI agents to interact with real-world tasks. You will implement reusable primitives for meetings, web browsing, email, and payments, and define reliable interfaces for agent tool use.

You will collaborate with product and engineering to turn new use cases into practical services, while improving safety, observability, and reliability across the platform

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production-grade services.
• Comfort with AI agents, LLMs, and tool calling.
• Strong communication and hands-on engineering approach.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into maintainable products.
• Emphasis on reliability, security, and external side effects.
• Experience with agent frameworks is a plus.

Job description

• We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI Enablement team and build the services that allow AI agents to interact with the real world
• You will develop and maintain agent primitives such as meeting participation, web search, browser automation, email, payments, and related services. These capabilities will give agents secure, reliable ways to join meetings, browse the web, communicate, make purchases, and complete tasks on behalf of users
• This role combines product engineering, platform design, and applied AI. You will work on services that must behave predictably in production, handle external systems safely, and expose clear interfaces that agents can use effectively

• Strong software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems
• Comfort working with LLMs, AI agents, tool calling, and agent orchestration
• Clear communication and a practical, hands-on approach to engineering
• An ability to work through ambiguous problems and turn early ideas into maintainable products
• Good judgment around reliability, security, permissions, and external side effects
• Experience with agent frameworks and runtimes such as Hermes Agent or OpenClaw is a plus
