Job summary

TechHeads is seeking a Software & AI Architect/Technical Lead for a remote-first role in Ireland. You will shape the technical roadmap, modernise the cloud-native platform and responsibly guide architecture decisions while remaining closely involved with delivery teams.

The role demands 8–10+ years of software engineering with architecture responsibility, strong SaaS/cloud-native experience and a track record in distributed systems. AWS expertise is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of software engineering with architecture responsibility.
• Experience with SaaS/cloud-native platforms.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and scalable infrastructure.
• Cloud architecture experience, ideally AWS.
• Experience in high-availability and security-sensitive environments.
• Hands-on technical leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• AI/ML architecture experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the target architecture and technical roadmap for a SaaS platform.
• Lead migration from legacy systems to a microservices/event-driven architecture.
• Own architectural decisions across software, cloud, data, integration and AI domains.
• Collaborate with product/engineering; participate in design reviews and PoCs.
• Drive scalability, performance, resilience, security and disaster recovery.
• Reduce technical debt and establish AI-assisted development standards.
• Mentor senior engineers and provide escalation support for complex challenges.
