Job summary

Shanahan Engineering in Ireland seeks a Senior Site Civil Engineer for an onshore renewable solar project in Co. Meath. You will support the Site Manager and Resident Civil Engineer, supervising site activities and ensuring safety, quality, and contract compliance on a multi‑contract solar build.

The role requires 5+ years’ civil site management experience, FIDIC knowledge, and a valid driving license. 9‑month commitment with travel within Ireland as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering with site management on energy infrastructure projects.
• Good working knowledge of FIDIC Contracts and contract administration.
• Experience engaging with internal/external stakeholders and authorities.
• Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work to professional standards.
• A flexible approach to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site activities of contractors for a solar renewal project on a multi‑contract basis.
• Support Site Manager / Resident Civil Engineer in contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare progress reports for the Site Manager and project team.
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Undertake site quality inspections and participate in ITP reviews.
• Resolve on-site conflicts with the project team and Site Manager.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and incident records.
