Job Description

TUTTY'S HANDMADE SHOES, Millbrook, Naas, Co. Kildare, W91 EK4H. Our new shoemaker will work across a wide range of disciplines, but will mainly concentrate on bottoming, finishing, socketing & repairing. The candidate will begin working on repairs and must have experience using a Blake and outsole stitching machine. The candidate will also be responsible to assist with other tasks such as bottoming and finishing. It is beneficial if the candidate has experience making orthopaedic footwear. Building rocker soles, roll offs, flared soles will be a daily occurrence. We require the candidate to be flexible and open minded. At Tutty’s we make a wide variety of footwear which helps our crafts men and women to develop their skills and keeps the work interesting and challenging.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience as a shoemaker or shoe repairer
  • Be proficient working with leather, EVA and rubber soling
  • Experience working with orthopaedic footwear is desirable
  • Can mutli-task and use initiative to solve problems
  • Be flexible to perform other tasks in the workshop when required
  • Must have a proficient level of English both written and verbal
  • Have an outgoing personality who will seamlessly fit in with our current team

We will be providing training to develop the candidates’ skills; however, previous experience of shoemaking or shoe repairing is required for this role.

Working hours 40 hours 07:30-16:30 Mon-Thurs, 07:30-16:00 Fri. Good understanding of written and spoken English. A minimum of 3 years experience working as a shoemaker or shoe repairer.
