Job summary

Tenable, Inc. is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join our security research team. This role involves researching vulnerabilities, developing detection checks, and collaborating with stakeholders to share outcomes.

You’ll work across Linux environments, implement advanced detection logic in C and/or Python, and help grow a team of researchers through mentoring and knowledge sharing, with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

• Research vulnerabilities and develop detection checks based on findings.
• Demonstrably strong programming skills in C and/or Python.
• Experience with Linux and multiple operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Research existing vulnerabilities and look for new ones.
• Develop checks/plugins to detect vulnerabilities using Tenable products.
• Interface with external stakeholders to share research outcomes.
• Mentor and train other researchers when needed.
