Job summary

MongoDB seeks an experienced senior software engineer to define and drive the security-focused Rust backend for the Ingress layer. You will own technical plans, collaborate with Server, Atlas, SRE, and Product Security to deliver high-impact solutions.

You will design, implement, and operate production-ready services with emphasis on security, correctness, and performance, while mentoring peers and guiding architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building production-quality systems software.
• Strong fundamentals in multi-threaded programming and performance profiling.
• Excellent verbal and written technical communication across audiences.
• Experience with large backend/compiled codebases and performance-sensitive software.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical strategy for Ingress Security with stakeholders.
• Own planning and execution of technical plans for security and networking problems.
• Design, implement, and operate production-ready security services in Rust.
• Collaborate on roadmaps to improve security posture of the ingress stack.
• Mentor team members and lead code reviews and design discussions.
