Job summary

Company Overview:

Brodeen Engineering are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor.

Brodeen Engineering is a stainless steel and carbon steel fabrication and installation company providing services across Ireland and Europe. We specialise in Pipe Fabrication & Installation, Mechanical Installations, Heavy Lifting and Equipment Installation and Skid Fabrication.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor role will be primarily based in Tipperary Town but some European travel may be required from time totime.

Role Summary:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will lead the commercial and cost management aspects of our mechanical engineering projects. This role involves close collaboration with project teams to ensure financial targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate cost forecasting and contract compliance.
  • Review contracts and advise senior managers on Contracts.
  • Manageall other Contractual aspects of Projects.
  • Manage progress payments.
  • Support procurement and tendering processes for mechanical components and services.
  • Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and cost plans for mechanical projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of project costs, materials, and contractual documentation.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field
  • SCSI and/or RICS Membership desirable
  • At least 5 years experience in quantity surveying within the mechanical engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of pipe fabrication, installation processes, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in cost planning, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Experience in reviewing and managing Contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
