Job summary

MSL Engineering Ltd in Ireland is seeking a Project Controls & Cost Lead to establish and manage all project controls across large-scale mechanical construction projects. You will ensure cost control, forecasting, planning, change management and performance reporting to support on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will lead budgeting, KPI development, risk reviews and reporting to senior management, working with Project Managers, Engineers and Procurement to align cost and schedule.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Project Controls.
• 8+ years in project controls, cost engineering or commercial delivery.
• Experience on mechanical, piping, life sciences, pharma or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of planning and cost management principles.
• Advanced Excel and project controls software (Primavera P6, Power BI, SAP, Deltek, EcoSys).
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project cost control function from award to final account.
• Develop and maintain detailed budgets, cost plans and cash flows.
• Monitor actual costs vs budget, identify overruns, risks and opportunities.
• Produce weekly and monthly cost reports for project and senior management.
• Validate labour productivity, resource utilisation and earned value metrics.
• Work with Quantity Surveyors for accurate valuation of works and changes.
• Forecast final project costs and margin performance.
• Analyze subcontractor cost performance and implement corrective actions.
• Support planning, scheduling and progress reporting across projects.
