Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Product Manager - Technical to lead the roadmap for the Decision Management Platform and collaborate with engineering to assess feasibility, dependencies and technical implications. You will gather requirements, write epics and user stories, and drive acceptance criteria while partnering with stakeholders across the business.

  • Proven product owner experience launching complex projects from ideation to production.
  • Experience as product owner or business analyst managing feature backlog and roadmap.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across stakeholder levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability with clear functional/non‑functional docs and API specs.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies; SAFE Agile is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, self‑motivated and able to work with urgency.
  • Experience estimating work deliverables and tracking status; good planning skills.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, deployment processes, and production support activities.
  • Understanding of system integrations, web services, and data flows between applications.
  • Willingness to accommodate teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product roadmap aligned with vision, scope and business objectives.
  • Handle intake for customer requests across multiple product applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and PMs to assess feasibility and dependencies.
  • Gather requirements and convert into epics, features and user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate scoping sessions and review sessions of technical requirements.
  • Document requirements with rules, diagrams or state transitions.
  • Prioritize features by urgency and business value across multiple development teams.
  • Guide and mentor other product managers for all applications under this product.
  • Review product demos against acceptance criteria and track progress at feature/epic level.
  • Coordinate demos and handovers to stakeholders; manage backlog based on feedback.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand needs and adjust backlog; participate in post-launch reviews and audits.
  • Ensure vulnerabilities and mandatory technical imperatives are addressed; manage production change gating.

Decision Management Platform

Be part of the Operations & Technology Fraud Products team developing new capabilities for Mastercard's Decision Management Platform, which serves as the core for multiple business solutions to combat fraud and validate cardholder identity. Our patented Java-based platform processes billions of transactions per month in tens of milliseconds using a multi-tiered, message-oriented approach for high performance and availability.

Role
  • Define the product roadmap aligning with its vision, scope, and business objectives
  • Handle intake process for customer requests for multiple applications of the product
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams and product managers to assess feasibility of requests, align dependencies and technical implications to existing functionality
  • Gather and analyze requirements and elaborate into epics, features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria
  • Facilitate scoping sessions and lead review sessions of technical requirements/features
  • Document requirements clearly with rules, workflow diagrams or state transition tables to aid understanding
  • Prioritize features based on urgency and business value across multiple development teams of the product working closely with other product managers
  • Guide and mentor product managers for all applications under this product
  • Reviews product demo with the development team against acceptance criteria for the feature set
  • Continuously monitors feature development at the feature and epic levels
  • Facilitate demos and handovers to stakeholders
  • Regularly meet with stakeholders to understand their needs and create backlog accordingly
  • Facilitate post-launch reviews, net promoter score surveys and incorporate feedback into backlog
  • Prepare evidence for audits and claims as part of regulatory compliance and own product risk assessments
  • Ensure vulnerabilities and mandatory technical imperatives for the product are handled timely
  • Handle scrum master role of the team ensuring the team is on track per iteration and PI
  • Plan and schedule the change requests for deployments ensuring the gating criteria are met to go to production
All About You/Experience
  • Successfully launched complex projects as product owner working closely with engineering teams from ideation to production
  • Extensive experience as product owner or business analyst managing feature backlog and roadmap
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to simplify complex requirements with detailed and clear documentation (functional/non-functional requirements and API specifications)
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, SAFE Agile methodology a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, operates with a sense of urgency
  • Experience with estimating work deliverables and managing project status is a plus
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), application deployment processes, and production support activities.
  • Understanding of system integrations, web services, and data flow between applications.
