Job summary

The National Lottery is seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our Digital team and shape the future of our digital products and services.

This strategic, hands-on role leads design from discovery to delivery, partnering with Product Owners, developers and stakeholders to create intuitive, engaging experiences. Based in Dublin City Centre with a hybrid schedule, you will help evolve design systems and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years' experience in Product Design, UX Design or related discipline.
  • Experience in agile product teams.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end digital product initiatives.
  • Strong user research and usability testing expertise.
  • Experience developing or scaling design systems.
  • Deep understanding of UX, interaction design and product thinking.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma.
  • Ability to manage complex challenges independently.
  • Strong understanding of digital product metrics and customer behaviour.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery activities across key digital initiatives.
  • Translate customer needs into product opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define and prioritise problems to solve.
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative design sessions.
  • Influence product decisions through customer insight and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Lead complex design projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Create user journeys, service blueprints, wireframes and prototypes.
  • Balance customer needs, business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Advocate for user-centered design across the organisation.
  • Plan and conduct user research and usability testing.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify customer behaviours and opportunities.
  • Champion the voice of the customer in product development.
  • Establish scalable research practices and frameworks.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our design system and Figma libraries.
  • Drive consistency across web and mobile experiences.
  • Support the development of scalable design processes and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design system improvements.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our Digital team and help shape the future of our digital products and services.

This is a strategic and hands-on role where you will lead the design of customer experiences from discovery through to delivery. Working closely with Product Owners, developers and stakeholders, you will use customer insight, research and design thinking to create intuitive, engaging, and impactful digital experiences.

You will be joining a small design team at the ground-floor, and as such you will be a key contributor to the development and improvement of our internal processes, both regarding the design discipline itself, but also regarding collaboration with other teams.

This is a hybrid position based in Dublin City Centre 3 days per week.

What You Will Do
Product Strategy & Discovery
  • Lead discovery activities across key digital initiatives.

What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
  • 6+ years' experience in Product Design, UX Design or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within agile product teams.
  • Proven experience leading end-to‑end digital product initiatives.
  • Strong user research and usability testing expertise.
  • Experience developing or scaling design systems.
  • Deep understanding of UX, interaction design and product thinking.

Desirable
  • Experience with remote user-testing tools.
  • Experience using GA4 and behavioural analytics platforms.
  • Experience in ecommerce, gaming, fintech, telecommunications or other consumer-focused digital products.
  • Experience working with external agencies and distributed teams.
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience within design teams
