About the Role
Cpl, Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading hospital for a Senior Pharmacist to deliver effective, efficient, and safe pharmaceutical care within a specialized clinical setting. This full-time, permanent role involves contributing to the clinical pharmacy service, supporting medication management, and providing leadership within the pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure patient care and safety are the highest priority at all times.
- Participate in clinical pharmacy service delivery, including prescription review, patient education, and clinical interventions documentation.
- Support the efficient operation and supervision of the Dispensary, including procurement, storage, and dispensing of medicines.
- Maintain compliance with legal, ethical, and best practice standards in pharmaceutical services.
- Achieve and maintain competence in Oncology/Haematology clinical information systems.
- Assist in formulary management, SOP development, and medicines information provision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medication management and workflows.
- Identify and address medication management deficiencies and report issues to senior management.
- Support medication safety and quality improvement initiatives through audit and incident reporting.
- Provide expert advice to hospital leadership to aid in managing the drug budget.
- Participate in hospital committees and service development activities.
- Act as a leader and role model, supporting staff training, development, and performance management.
- Contribute to pharmacy research, audit, and hospital accreditation processes.
- Support the implementation of pharmacy transformation strategies.
- Engage in continuous professional development in line with professional obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
- Minimum of 5 years post-registration hospital pharmacy experience.
- Proven clinical pharmacy knowledge and management ability relevant to the role.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development.
- Strong planning, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Experience in change management and quality improvement initiatives.
