Job summary

PharmaConex, an established pharmacy group, seeks a Supervising Pharmacist with Superintendent responsibilities in the east of Galway City. The role is senior, leading dispensary teams, governance, and staff training within a multi-site group.

The successful candidate will have PSI registration, at least five years of supervising experience in Irish community pharmacies, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Fully registered with the PSI.
• Minimum 5 years of supervising experience in Irish community pharmacies.
• Multi-site or group pharmacy experience desirable.
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and operational skills.

Responsibilities

• Roster all pharmacists and technicians and recruit qualified staff as needs arise.
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy in compliance with PSI regulations and Irish pharmacy legislation.
• Act as a professional reference for dispensary teams across the group, providing guidance and support.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audits and patient safety initiatives.
• Assist in overseeing dispensary stock, purchasing and commercial performance.
• Engage with PSI and IPU as required.
• Lead all training initiatives across the group.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and the local community.

Supervising Pharmacist (with Superintendent Responsibilities) – East of Galway City

PharmaConex is currently recruiting an experienced Supervising Pharmacist for a well-established independent pharmacy group in the east of Galway City. This is a senior role that goes beyond standard supervising duties, incorporating elements of superintendent oversight, making it an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist looking to step into a broader leadership position.

Key Details

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Rota to include some late nights. Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis
• Part of the 40 hours can be dedicated to non-dispensing office days
• No travel required
