Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a growing FinTech organisation delivering modern digital payments and banking solutions in Ireland. You will design and develop scalable, high-performance applications for critical financial transactions.

You will build secure REST APIs and cloud-native services using .NET Core and Azure, collaborating with architects, DevOps, and product stakeholders to improve reliability, security and performance.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of commercial software engineering experience with strong C# and .NET expertise.
• Proven experience designing and developing enterprise applications using .NET Core or modern .NET.
• Strong experience building REST APIs, microservices and distributed applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application development.
• Strong SQL Server experience, including database design and query optimisation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of software design patterns, SOLID principles and clean architecture.
• Experience developing secure, scalable and highly available systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Build secure and high-performance APIs and microservices supporting financial applications and payment processing.
• Develop cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
• Design and implement integrations between payment platforms, banking systems and third-party services.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions, technical design and engineering best practices.
• Develop and optimise database queries, data models and application performance.
• Implement automated testing, continuous integration and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve application deployment, monitoring and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Ensure applications meet security, performance, scalability and operational resilience requirements.
• Support the modernisation of legacy applications and migration towards cloud-native architectures.
