Job summary

Archer Recruitment is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of a greenfield AI platform in Ireland. The role combines hands-on coding with setting the architectural direction for enterprise-scale agentic AI and ML systems.

The position requires 8-10 years of ML experience, strong Python skills, and deep experience with A2A protocols and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). You will own the production ML stack and drive MLOps maturity in a global reinsurance environment.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of Machine Learning experience
• Experience delivering AI/ML solutions in greenfield environments
• Experience with A2A (Agent-to-Agent Protocol) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the production AI platform, including deployment, reliability, observability and lifecycle management for agentic and conventional ML systems
• Engineer and standardise CI/CD, environment management and release processes for ML models and agentic services
• Design and integrate MCP servers and A2A-based agent communication for scalable orchestration
• Drive production excellence through MLOps/LLMOps, observability, monitoring and drift detection
• Lead technical direction across the AI engineering function and align with data science leadership on major decisions
