Job summary

Dornan Engineering Group in Kilkenny is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical) to join the commercial team. The role is hands-on, client-facing and involves supporting project delivery in the pharmaceutical space, liaising with the broader commercial team, and ensuring commercial compliance on site.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, 7+ years of experience, and a strong piping/mechanical systems background, with data centre/pharma/industrial

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Construction Management or related field.
• 7+ years in a commercial role, ideally with a piping background.
• Strong understanding of Mechanical Systems.
• Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, or Industrial experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Validate tender following award of project with the Project Manager/Director.
• Prepare cash flow and cost forecasts; update regularly.
• Compile monthly reports in line with group procedures.
• Carry out monthly site measurements and interim valuations (labour, materials, plant, costs).
• Monitor on-site progress and submission of loss and expense claims where applicable.
• Attend monthly commercial and subcontractor meetings and draft correspondences.
• Identify scope changes and manage change control to maximise commercial/operational benefit.
