Job summary

Leo Lynch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex mechanical projects on site in Tralee. You will coordinate design to installation via BIM, oversee procurement and scheduling, and ensure compliance with QA standards.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to drive project success. The role requires deep mechanical/ piping project experience, proficiency with Navisworks and CAD/BIM, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering results

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with a mechanical/contractor in process mechanical or pipework.
• Excellent organizational and project planning skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in Navisworks and CAD/BIM processes.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering requirements by liaising with key project stakeholders (client design team, main contractor, suppliers, subcontractors).
• Familiarisation with design/IFC specifications and drawings to understand scope.
• Coordinate to transform design information into installation drawings by BIM personnel, ensuring compliance and schedule alignment.
• Ensure engineering activities support the construction schedule (procurement, etc.).
• Prepare and issue technical submittals and track approvals.
• Engage vendors for technical support and value engineering solutions.
• Manage procurement using EMR, prepare take-offs, identify lead-in times and field needs.
• Manage equipment procurement and tracking for delivery to site.
• Ensure works meet project specs and QA plan; conduct site audits.
• Prepare and agree project completion criteria and close-out documents.
• Prepare sub-contract and supplier tender packages with project QS.
• Manage work packs from development to handover; BIM priorities and isometrics.
• Liaise with clients and prepare reports for Directors and stakeholders.
• Schedule meetings and training sessions as needed.
• Coordinate with client project management to ensure designs meet legal/regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support to construction team during building phase.
