Job summary

Rent a Recruiter partners with a leading global engineering and infrastructure consultancy to recruit a Principal Mechanical Engineer for Dublin or Cork. The role focuses on client and stakeholder management, supporting project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and developing leadership within the Mechanical Design Delivery team.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering or related subject.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
• Experience in design consultancy or contractor design environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand client requirements through clear briefings and effective stakeholder management.
• Prepare mechanical specifications and equipment schedules.
• Perform heating, cooling and ventilation calculations for safe, compliant designs.
• Produce detailed calculations using standard digital tools and mentor others.
• Collaborate with the Global Technology Centre to enhance design quality.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors and partners.
• Undertake site surveys and review progress to ensure design delivery.
• Manage project delivery across key stages and support successful completion.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to team growth.
• Seek leadership opportunities within Mechanical Design Delivery.
• Pursue clear career progression and professional development.
