Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group are representing a UK-founded engineering consultancy expanding in Ireland. They seek a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design for MEP projects and help grow the Irish branch, with Dublin and Castlebar offices and a hybrid/remote-first approach.

You will attend client meetings and project sites as required. The role focuses on building services design, mentoring the team, and contributing to business growth while delivering

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical/Building Services Engineer (BEng/MEng), Chartered preferred.
• Proven design experience for mechanical services in life sciences, data centres, and mission-critical projects.
• Experience with Irish Building Regulations, BCAR, Safety Regulations and project handover requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design work for mechanical services across diverse sectors.
• Collaborate with external design teams and mentor internal designers.
• Attend client meetings and site visits; provide design reviews and progress reports.
• Manage design delivery to align with project budgets and schedules.
• Support or lead work-winning activities and tender design responses.
• Travel to project meetings; sites mainly in Ireland and nearby corridors.
