About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting‑edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinate the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
Title: Senior Material Planner
Durations: 12 Months contract

Role
The primary role of the Material Planner is to ensure the availability of raw material components to meet the production schedule in Drug Substance, Drug Product and Finish Goods Packaging Operations. The planner will ensure raw material components are planned, purchased and released within the guidelines established in the ERP SAP system. The planner will play a key role in the development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure optimal raw material coverage in line with the Master Production Schedule and product launch activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in line with the Master Production Schedule in SAP to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Convert purchase requests to purchase orders as required by SAP detailed schedule including payment of supplier invoices.
- Monitor material release status to meet detailed schedule.
- Manage inventory end‑to‑end including pricing (Purchase Info Record), PPV, reserve process, expiry, FIFO, FEFO, safety stock, lead times, etc.
- Issue quarterly supplier forecasts.
- Generate and issue recurring Heatmap/Material Readiness reports to site stakeholders; participate in weekly material readiness activity.
- Ensure that supplier open order book is issued and aligned with SAP on a weekly basis.
- Maintain Master Data accuracy in SAP for material components.
- Aging receipts, resolve issues and identify root causes.
- Manage Short‑Term Exception Management (STEM) program; proactively engage stakeholders to resolve schedule conflicts.
- Provide inputs into the monthly site Supply Chain Review meeting (SCR).
- Participate in end‑of‑campaign performance review (Plan vs Actual) to correct future campaign requirements.
- Participate in Global Category Form and Quarterly Business Review (QBR).
- Participate in site Single‑Use Application strategy meetings.
- Member of the functional process team as required.
- Facilitate Tier 1 Purchasing team meetings.
- Complete material planning scenarios as required to maintain detailed schedule.
- Support delivery of Change Request, CAPA, Deviation and Supplier Change Notification (SCN) within the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Engage in Right‑First‑Time (six‑sigma) and lean manufacturing practices to drive Operational Excellence.
- Develop, maintain and publish KPI for supplier performance (OTIF).
- Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) projects: Safety and Quality, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Participate in daily cross‑functional meetings to maintain Adherence to Schedule (ATS) and Adherence to Plan (ATP).
- Participate in weekly S&OE meetings; ensure cross‑functional alignment of plans.
- Implement Material Planner Standard Work; metrics; cost savings; dual sourcing; operational readiness programs (ORP).

- Education & Experience: Minimum honor's degree (NFQ level 7) in Supply Chain Management or related business discipline.
- Supply Chain Certification preferred (e.g., APICS).
- Project Management or Lean Certification desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years relevant Supply Chain Management experience.
- Experience in planning/purchasing in pharmaceutical environment with strong technical/systems background.
- Experience in SAP essential.
- Proven track record in end‑to‑end leading and managing a direct material category (e.g., chemicals, SUTs).
- Power BI or similar data analytics tool knowledge desirable.
- Experience in GMP environment minimum 1 year.
- Project Management focus on value creation and waste reduction desirable.
