With commercial operations planned for 2026, this is a unique opportunity to play a key role in bringing a brand‑new manufacturing site to life.

As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will join the project during the facility build and operational readiness phase, helping to ensure equipment, utilities and maintenance systems are designed for long‑term reliability, efficiency and compliance. • Providing frontline engineering support to maintenance technicians and operations teams.
  • Managing external service providers and specialist contractors.
  • Supporting delivery of manufacturing campaigns while ensuring GMP, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Leading engineering change controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing long‑term asset reliability strategies.
  • Monitoring engineering KPIs and driving improvements in equipment availability, efficiency and performance.
  • Supporting shutdown planning and execution activities.
  • Sharing best practice and lessons learned across AstraZeneca manufacturing sites.
Drive Reliability and Continuous Improvement

A key focus of this role is improving asset performance through data‑driven decision making and operational excellence methodologies.

You will:

  • Lead Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities on critical assets.

  • Apply reliability‑centred maintenance principles and maintenance optimisation techniques.
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S and Lean initiatives.
  • Use digital tools and performance analytics to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve throughput, quality, cost efficiency and sustainability.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across engineering and operations teams.

You will:
