Job summary

Yadimen Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design and build cloud-ready, microservices-based applications for a major banking modernisation programme. You will work in an Agile team delivering resilient, secure, high-throughput services that sit alongside — and increasingly replace — legacy back-end systems.

You’ll contribute to solution design, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines, applying Java 17+, Spring Boot, Docker/Kubernetes, and RESTful APIs in a production environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on Java engineering
• Strong Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem (MVC, Data, Security)
• Proven microservices design and delivery in production
• REST API design; messaging/streaming (Kafka or similar)
• CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift; Git
• Automated testing discipline (JUnit, Mockito; contract/integration testing)
• Agile/Scrum delivery environment

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Java services using Spring Boot and a microservices architecture
• Build and consume RESTful APIs; work with messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ/JMS)
• Write clean, well-tested code with TDD/BDD
• Containerise and deploy services via CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI)
• Integrate with relational and NoSQL data stores (Oracle/PostgreSQL; DB2)
• Contribute to solution design, code reviews, performance, security and observability
• Collaborate with architects, BAs, testers and product owners; support SIT/UAT and production releases
