Ergo are seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator for a hybrid role in Dublin city centre. The successful candidate will join our market-leading team of Engineers supporting a vital public service.
Working with Ireland’s current Microsoft Partner of the Year in an ITIL environment you will learn from some of the best in the business while developing your own technical skills.
You should have L3 experience in hybrid identity management, Azure platform administration and M365 services (Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Defender). An understanding of ITIL processes and ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) is desirable.
What will you do?
- Provide third line technical support to end users, troubleshooting and resolving IT service requests.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of Windows Server environments, Windows 10/11 systems, and M365 services.
- Monitor, support, and troubleshoot infrastructure and network technology stack including MS O365, LAN/WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, Hyper‑V Clustered environments.
- Conduct assessments of the existing technology landscape to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring systems remain up to date, addressing bottlenecks, and enhancing reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align IT initiatives with strategic business objectives while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices.
- Lead efforts to evaluate, implement, and optimise emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies in line with IT strategy.
- Drive innovation and operational excellence by proactively improving IT infrastructure, processes, and performance.
- Ensure the security, stability, and efficiency of IT systems through continuous monitoring, maintenance, and best‑practice implementation.
- Apply a deep understanding of technology to enhance system performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Utilise ITSM tools such as ServiceNow to track incidents, changes, and service requests.
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations and How‑to procedures.
You should have experience in the following:
- 5+ years in a similar role (IT Engineer, L3 Helpdesk, Systems Engineer)
- Windows Server, Windows 10/11 desktop environments and endpoint management.
- Active Directory, M365 and Azure administration.
- PowerShell (or similar) scripting
- Virtualisation technologies such as Hyper‑V and Citrix.
- Backup and recovery solutions (Veeam preferred).
- ITIL principles and experience working with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, or CompTIA Network+ (preferred but not required).
