Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to join the Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service team in Europe. The role focuses on testing and commissioning activities, developing commissioning procedures, and ensuring projects are commissioned safely on time and to spec.

This site-based position requires travel within Ireland and the EU, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
Experience in testing and commissioning HV substation equipment, protection and control systems.
Knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements.
Willingness to travel within Ireland and the EU.

Responsibilities

Manage the commissioning phase of utilities, data centre substation projects focusing on safety and quality.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of digital engineering solutions.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to align projects with expectations.
Prepare and review project documentation and reports.
Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster excellence.
Responsible for testing and commissioning substation equipment.
Prepare commissioning program, schedule, inspections, and test plans.
Ensure adherence to Hitachi EHS and Quality Policies and project specs.
