Overview

Lidon Group has an exciting new vacancy for an experienced Senior Human Resources Operations Specialist to support the continued development of our business through engagement, development and retention of our key resource, our people.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business group operating in forecourt retail and motor industries. This key role within the HR team will focus on driving the delivery, understanding, compliance and implementation of company policies at site level, through collaboration with department and site management. Our ideal candidate is proactive and thrives in a fast-paced environment, bringing both operational excellence and a people development mindset. This role will suit someone who is highly motivated with a positive attitude, and exhibits patience, teamwork, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The incumbent will partner closely with the HR team, management team in Support Office and Sites, and other key stakeholders to ensure our employee experience is seamless, compliant, and reflective of our company values.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a consistent, knowledgeable and professional service in areas including disciplinary, grievance, probation, performance, long term sick leave etc. ensuring all such matters are dealt with in line with policy, best practice and legislative requirements to mitigate risk.
  • Coaching: apply your HR expertise to effectively partner with managers to provide guidance, support, and coaching to drive people development and business results with a focus on manager enablement promoting understanding of & compliance with HR policies & practices
  • Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Management: Coach and enable leaders to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and manage employee performance, including goal setting, talent reviews, and performance improvement initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Serve as the main escalation point for the team on complex or high-impact employee experience issues, providing counsel to managers on disciplinary and warning actions related to ER cases, policy interpretation and employment practices.
  • Regular attendance on group sites to develop and maintain strong teams and relationships.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years progressive Human Resources experience with at least 3 years in senior HR operations roles in a busy fast paced environment.
  • Driven professional with excellent hands-on approach
  • Degree qualified in Human Resources, with upto date knowledge of changes in Irish Employment Law Legislation
  • Must have strong performance management, coaching and HR operations background.
  • CIPD qualification at Chartered level or working towards this level
  • Proven track record of managing complex employee relations cases
  • Demonstrable experience in proactive people management practices, and succession planning
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Confidence, gravitas and credibility together with a robust and resilient personality
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and other business systems/tools for enhanced productivity and data analysis, including MS 365 tools.
  • Full clean driving licence with willingness to actively travel to all business sites (mileage allowance provided)

Experience in and understanding of retail/hospitality industry workforce challenges including skills shortages
