Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in healthcare recruitment and is seeking a Gastrointestinal Physiologist – Chief II for a hospital in Dublin, Ireland. The role involves delivering high-level GI physiology investigations, training staff, and contributing to service improvements.

You will work closely with physicians, manage complex diagnostics, and ensure patient safety and data integrity while supporting ongoing professional development within the GI physiology service.

Qualifications

  • Specialised training in GI physiology through accredited programmes or relevant practice.
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience as a GI Physiologist.
  • Knowledge of gastroenterology diagnostic investigations and data handling.
  • Ability to contribute to service development and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, interpret and report GI physiology investigations (manometry, pH, pH-impedance, breath tests).
  • Prepare, calibrate and maintain GI physiology equipment with patient safety in mind.
  • Collaborate with physicians in motility disorder assessment and obtain informed consent.
  • Review results, produce clinical reports and maintain confidential records.
  • Provide training, supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students.
  • Participate in audits, QA, risk management and service evaluations.
  • Support service innovation and adoption of new technologies and best practices.
