Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd in Ireland seeks a General Foreman to supervise multiple site sections and lead a team of Section Site Supervisors and Assistants. The role focuses on safety, quality, and timely delivery on medium to large-scale projects.

Responsibilities include coordinating resources, monitoring subcontractors, and maintaining thorough site records. Essential training in health and safety, temporary works, and BIM will be valuable for this critical on-site leadership position.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction teams on medium to large scale projects
• IOSH or equivalent health and safety training
• Temporary works and excavation safety training
• Working at heights and scaffolding training
• Familiarity with BIM strategy and new construction technology

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities across multiple sections of the site
• Lead Section Site Supervisors and Assistant Site Supervisors to deliver works in line with programme, cost and quality targets
• Monitor the performance of subcontractors and workforce to ensure compliance with contract specifications and company standards
• Implement and maintain health, safety, environmental and quality management practices on site
• Ensure site records, including daily logs, inspection reports, and material records, are accurate and up to date
• Coordinate with Site Manager to allocate resources and prioritise work effectively
• Identify operational risks, report issues and implement corrective actions where necessary
• Participate in site briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings
• Mentor junior site staff and contribute to the development of team capability
• Support the Site Manager in maintaining site discipline, productivity and adherence to company culture
