This is a senior position within the Council reporting to the Senior Engineer/Senior Executive Officer and/or other employee nominated by the Director of Services or Chief Executive.
The Senior Executive Parks and Landscape Officer will be responsible for the efficient management of their prescribed work area within the Climate, Environment, Recreation and Amenity Directorate. As a senior manager they will be responsible for the delivery of the Local Authority's vision and objectives. The Senior Executive Parks and Landscape Officer will be required to work closely with elected Councillors, local community groups, clubs, and the public to deliver the full range of service and implement local policy decisions. The Senior Executive Parks and Landscape Officer will have a strong track record of innovation and will have proven expertise in the operation of the various IT systems available for the effective day to day management of budgets, procurement, design, facilities, and parks management.
In the current economic climate, managers are charged with service delivery and change management in an environment of limited resource availability, both human and financial. Delivery of efficient services and value for money is crucial.
This role will have significant input and responsibility to the delivery of the Climate change plan and the bio-diversity plans for actions within the recreation and amenity functions

Working within a team on the development of open space/green infrastructure strategies, policies, open space planning, masterplans, development management and taking in charge.
Proactive engagement with the Municipal Districts to assist them in their operational role in the management of Parks and Opens Spaces, including sports facilities, playgrounds and procedure relating to Taking in Charge.
The planning, procurement and management of projects from inception to construction relating to parks, open spaces, public realm, play, sports & physical activity, recreation and other green infrastructure.

Salary Scale effective from 1st June 2026:
Hours of attendance will be fixed from time to time but will amount to not less than 35 hours gross per week.
The annual leave allowance for the position of Senior Executive Parks and Landscapes Officer is 30 days.
