Are you passionate about delivering sustainable solutions in the water sector? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team at Ryan Hanley, now Stantec, supporting critical infrastructure projects in the Water sector across Ireland.

With a robust pipeline of work underway, you will play a key role in a collaborative environment, driving the planning, design, and delivery of essential wastewater network solutions from feasibility right through to detailed design and construction.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be instrumental in the delivery and technical assurance of our projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and exceeding client expectations. Your responsibilities will focus on technical excellence, project leadership, and team development:

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver complex wastewater network projects, including the design of drainage system upgrades, new pipelines, and new/upgraded pumping stations for water utilities, local authorities, and private sector clients.
  • Prepare and manage the production of comprehensive documentation, including feasibility studies, planning reports, site assessments, detailed designs, and contract documents.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and technical consistency across all stages of delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and actively mentor junior team members, supporting their professional growth and career development within the firm.
About You

We are looking for a highly capable and proven professional with excellent technical and interpersonal skills:

  • A relevant third-level degree in Engineering.
  • Strong design focused engineering experience in the water sector, ideally with water projects.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent professional knowledge, combined with strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor more junior staff.
  • A track record of successfully meeting deliverable deadlines and maintaining client satisfaction, even when working under pressure.
