Job summary

Ethos Engineering is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical services across EMEA from concept to handover. You will manage client relationships, mentor staff and ensure QA standards are met before handover.

The role requires a deep knowledge of CIBSE/ASHRAE/EN standards and proficiency with AutoCAD, REVIT, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office; a hybrid Dublin-based arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Engineering, Chartered an advantage but not essential.
• 7+ years experience on Data Centre/Industrial/High Tech/Commercial/Healthcare projects.
• Deep understanding of CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS and EN standards.
• Proficient with Bluebeam, AutoCAD and REVIT.

• Lead mechanical services design on projects from concept to completion.
• Specify and design mechanical building services systems.
• Perform design checks and quality control for deliverables.

About the job:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will oversee projects across the EMEA region, managing the full project lifecycle from initial concept to client handover. You will confidently handle project delivery while building and maintaining strong client relationships. In addition, you will mentor and guide engineering staff, ensuring all team deliverables meet our quality assurance standards before handover. Proficiency in CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS, and EN standards, as well as expertise in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and REVIT, is essential for this role.

About you:

• This role offers a hybrid remote arrangement in Ireland, requiring attendance at the Dublin office as determined by the team's schedule.

• Honours Degree - Chartered an advantage but not essential

• 7+ years experiencewith Data Centres, Industrial, High Tech, Commercial and/or Healthcare engineering projects

• Deep understanding of CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS and EN Standards

• Working knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCad and REVIT

• Any other engineering analysis software is an advantage

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills

• Experience leading & coordinating an engineering team in the successful delivery of projects

• Inquisitive about emerging technologies and their application in your role

Your day-to-day activities:

• Lead mechanical services design on projects from concept stage to completion

• Specification and design of mechanical building services systems

• Continuous design and installation quality checks and control

• Provide fully detailed tender packages / tender reports / analysis / recommendations

• Uphold the mechanical design standards within the organisation

• Collaborate with the design team and clients to develop project scopes.

• Capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team

• Mentor and guide engineering staff.
