About the Company

Our client is a leading Irish Main Contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects throughout Ireland.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work in the Munster region, they are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on a major RC Frame apartment development in Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to join a highly respected contractor delivering a flagship residential project. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team, with genuine opportunities for progression into site and project management roles.

The Role

• Manage and coordinate all engineering activities on a large-scale RC Frame apartment development.
• Oversee setting out, surveying, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise and mentor Site Engineers, Junior Engineers, and subcontractors on site.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure programme targets are achieved.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and design teams to resolve technical and buildability issues.
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and quality across all site activities.
• Review drawings and specifications, identifying and resolving potential issues before construction.
• Manage site records, as-built drawings, inspections, and quality documentation.
• Order and coordinate materials to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the site management team.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Senior Engineer with a Main Contractor or Developer.
• Strong background on RC Frame, high-rise residential, or large-scale building projects.
• Excellent setting out and surveying experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience managing engineers, subcontractors, and site teams.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme delivery.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
• Full driving licence.
